Good piece on BBC News website about Manchester restricting chuggers http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-12525580 12 months ago via web
Cut off just as the call was starting after going through the menu options. Definitely was at the Virgin Media end that the call was dropped. I'm on a landline. Are the call reps trying to improve their call? over 1 year ago via web
It's so easy to be accused of being a whingebag but... calling O2 took 20 minutes last week to transfer a number to prepay. Then the SIM card arrives. It's for the wrong number and the wrong payment plan. Call again. Get cut off. Call again. Get told I need to talk to the Consumer department to then transfer to Prepay. That's fine but it took so much time and wasn't my mistake in the first place. over 1 year ago via web
Mexico is ravaged by drug gangs feeding the US. Afghanistan Taliban fuelled by drugs trade. Thousands of people locked up in prison for needlessly being deemed illegal for dealing in drugs.
Why on earth is it criminalised?
It would be a lot saner if it was legalised worldwide.
Prohibition hasn't work for drink. It's not working for alcohol.

Oh, how I had forgotten how truly awful Sky's customer service is.
Do Jeremy Darroch, James Murdoch and Rupert Murdoch really know what it is like to be a customer of Sky?
I just wanted to call and cancel the broadband package we have on our Sky account.
I spoke to someone who took me through the whole process and then said his computer was going slowly. He said he would transfer me to someone that would help.
He did that.
But the person he transferred me to was in a department that couldn't deal with the problem. He asked me to call another number and go through the whole process again.
Then.... I call back. Go through the menu system to get to 'cancellations'... and then get cut off.
Sky, you really don't have a clue.
Wasted 15 minutes of time completely unnecessarily and I'm still not done. about 2 years ago via web
I too find it very frustrating that BT Openzone has never worked well on my iPhone. about 2 years ago via web

Am I the only one who travels on London Overground and gets annoyed by the "Temporary Sign" notice that is attached to what seem like very permanent signs along lots of the route?
It's so clearly not Temporary. And so clearly a mistake.
I'd love to know what the official line is on it from TfL. about 2 years ago via web
There's probably some rationale like that if they have a permanent sign they need some kind of official sign off so easiest just to go for permanent 'temporary' signs about 2 years ago via web
This is in preparation for calling it sportsdirect.com@ hampstead heath or whatever about 2 years ago via web
I have to admit. I do find these signs very silly indeed that people have in the back of the car.
I never notice them when I'm driving and they don't suddenly make me drive better.
And, we have one in our car. Not me who put it there. about 2 years ago via web
The implication is that somehow the amount we want don't want to crash into and injure/kill someone varies with the age of the victim. Perhaps you should start selling stickers that say "Be reckless, old people on board". about 2 years ago via web
In repsonse to captaindarling I would be interested to know how many more women drivers with children respond to those signs. I have children and one of those little signs and whilst I don't moderate my driving if i see someone else with a sign I reckon that psycologically it might make the owner of the kids and the sign feel like they are adding an extra bit of protection for their offspring. Call me mad, but I do bizarrely feel safer having one.
So, I say, keep the signs. Anyway, it is also possible that having the sign might be useful to those who frequently forget to pick up their kids or indeed that they actually have them in the first place! about 2 years ago via web
I have heard that paramedics find these signs useful in severe road accidents where cars are smashed out of shape as it alerts them to the fact that there may be a child on board about 2 years ago via web
