Arrived at Kingston Hospital this morning for a dental appointment to be told that it had been canceled "weeks ago" and they apologised for the fact that they hadn't bothered to inform me. They blamed it on a "new system", which makes sense. But if it is a systemic fault, I wonder how many more people this has happened to, and how much revenue the economy has lost due to people taking days off work etc for non-existent appointments? over 2 years ago via web

about On hold for ages
I can't stand automated voice menus. Especially when you're on the mobile and out in the street yelling. 'YES. BANK BALANCE. NO. YES. AAARRRGH.' Although a good tip: hit 0 enough times and you'll get through to an operator. over 2 years ago via web

"This train is delayed due to congestion" --- please, you've got a whole track in front of you, all to yourself! Argh! over 2 years ago via web
This congestion is due to leaves on the track. Although you've got to admire "Driver's walked off to collect the kids from school" for the sheer cheek...

This isn't a problem I have. It's not THAT bad. over 2 years ago via web
umm actually no....we dont have a whole track to ourselves as you seem to think. A massive amount of freight uses the line between stratford and acton wells... it would be fair to estimate that 25-30% of the train movements on the north london line are freight. Hopefully in the future as more routes become available then the amount of freight will be reduced. over 2 years ago via web

about Can't see the slides at social media presentations at Social Media 09
Hot tip from #sm09: Either put the slides on the left screen, or raise up the screen so those at the back can see. over 2 years ago via web

There should at least be a limit on the types of offence that call for an entry on the database. Every little offence should not cause your DNA to be added to a potentially insecure DB. Maybe only for certain crimes? over 2 years ago via web
I agree with you totally on this, there should definitely be a limit on the types of offence and for certain specific crimes. over 2 years ago via web
Agree too. These guys seem good: http://www.no2id.net/ over 2 years ago via web

Apparently, a Dyson AirBlade "only" costs £680 incl VAT. Lots of people on Twitter say they want one for their own houses! over 2 years ago via web

The thing with hot air dryers that Dyson correctly worked out is that it's the air flow and not the air heat that matters. In fact you don't need any heat at all. You also don't need the air to form a blade. All you need is a lot of compressed air out of a nozzle. So rather than £680 for your home why not get a £49.99 compressor from Sealey with the added benefit that you can use it to blow up your tyres and for the odd spray painting job too. over 2 years ago via web
