Mexico is ravaged by drug gangs feeding the US. Afghanistan Taliban fuelled by drugs trade. Thousands of people locked up in prison for needlessly being deemed illegal for dealing in drugs.
Why on earth is it criminalised?
It would be a lot saner if it was legalised worldwide.
Prohibition hasn't work for drink. It's not working for alcohol.

If we legalise drugs, we can hypothecate the tax and drive it towards education.
