The Wellcome Trust have recently (I think) installed some Mitsubishi hand driers that are complete rip offs of the Dyson Airblades except for two key problems: 1. the design is hideous, you can see the grotty water collecting at the bottom of the drier for example, and more importantly: 2. they don't actually dry your hands.

Particularly in a place where attention to good design seems to be a big deal, these cheap versions of the real thing really let down the bathroom experience - which I'd feel ridiculous saying except that I've overheard several conversations in those bathrooms and the nearby corridor saying pretty much saying exactly the same! about 2 years ago via web

I heard about Dyson Airblades a few years ago. The first one I ever used was in the toilets at the Design Museum in London. They also had a promotional stand at the Innocent Village Fete a couple of years ago. However despite their efficiency and environmental credentials I rarely come across them in public places. I think the Design Museum was an exception due to obviously being a supporter of good design. I don't know if this is due to a lack of marketing or a lack of interest because they done seem to have taken off in the same way as the vacuum cleaners which is a shame.

Maybe they need to be promoted to interiors designers or people who specify the fit outs for public toilets, particularly in shopping centres . Or to developers who own shopping centres and commercial buildings from the angle of saving money on electricity bils or the cost of disposing of waste paper towels. about 2 years ago via web
