There has to be some government legislation on this soon as there was with int call charges.

Data is almost more important when you're abroad with a smart phone - maps, city guides, translations etc... And currently it is so expensive.

I think we should ask O2 to send a text message for every 10mb used when roaming. One could easily self cap with that sort of knowledge. And they MUST have the capability in their billing system to do that over 2 years ago via web

Ten days in NY, check email 3 times a day, data roaming off otherwise. £500!!!

O2 call me to advise, suggest I talk to billing, I complain in a nice way, explain above and suggest is excessive. Put me on hold for 10 mins (almost hung up myself), come back and say as a gesture of goodwill (now I'm thinking maybe £50?) they will cancel the whole £500!!!

I know I shouldn't be surprised by the outrageous data charges for carrying out even the simplest task on my iphone outside the UK, but FM they are just insane.
